The An Hoa Project was started over a decade ago and its main goals were to tell the story of the US Marines and Navy Corpsmen who served in the An Hoa Basin, Quang Nam Province, South Vietnam.
During the years over 150 Marines have joined the project and they have submitted stories and photographs to make these history disks possible. Dale Dye, military advisor to Hollywood is on the project along with Le Thuc Can who had been the director of the An Hoa Industrial Complex.
The project I had hoped would gather facts on An Hoa, little then did I know that it would evolve into a healing project helping Marines to reface their war in South Vietnam and for some suffering from PTSD it was to be cathartic.
The history of the USMC at An Hoa Combat Base has been researched by me using historic Marine Corps documents such as After-Action Reports & Command-Chronologies. I am thankfully for the help of David Prendergast and his web site 'The Vietnam Files' as David has all the documents to help trace what happened in those shimming rice fields over forty years ago.
My thanks goes also to Tom Holloway's and Rick Fry's No-Quarter web site, who let me use their information to make my KIA data bases which are on each disk. Without their hard work I could not have made such a detailed document.
I'm indebted to Col.G D Navadel, Ken Logue and my wife Ruth who acted as unpaid editors and to all the many other Marines who have made this project happen. I'd like to say..
